Grants for Higher Building Star Rating

Victoria currently has mandatory 6 Star energy rating on new residential buildings. Suggest grants to encourage going higher than the mandatory minimum. Qualify for grant if go from 6 to 6.5, or 7 or 8 etc. Higher grants from more additional Stars. Also adjust for building size.

Could also be applied to Green Star office buildings. While star rating is voluntary would have to determine the level of grant based on rating and size. If implemented by a local council the grant could be in the form of rate relief for a number of years as encouragement for these buildings.
